I'm making a journey to London today.
Origin - Leicester
Leicester - Rugby
Rugby - London
Trying to avoid using the direct route for the meantime. I bought a ticket from my origin to Rugby and arrived at Leicester in good time (more than 20 minutes) for the 12:16 to Nuneaton. This train was cancelled.
I waited one hour for the next train at 13:16. It was either this with a 21 minute connection at Nuneaton, or take the first one at 12:49 and wait 55 minutes at Nuneaton.
So I arrived at Nuneaton. When I checked at Leicester at around 12:45, the LM Crewe - Euston was running on time. When I arrived at Nuneaton, I discovered that it had incurred a 27 minute delay en route. This meant that I missed the 7 minute connection for the hourly Virgin service to Euston.
So arrival into London has been delayed by 2 hours on planned times.
I almost wished I'd stayed on the EMT train - I found a brand new walkup fare that's even cheaper than the walkup fares I've paid in the past.
Anyway, I'm using more than one ticket for the journey I am making. One is from my origin to Rugby. Because the London Midland service is late, I'm going to arrive into Rugby roughly 85 late. Who do I claim compensation from?
